A piano is a quality instrument that is cherished and valued. In order to get the price it deserves, it’s important you find a buyer who knows how to recognise good value.

Here at Pianoforte, we’ve been a trusted member of the music industry for the last 35 years. Music runs through our entire family and we’re proud to have one of the largest piano stores in all of Sydney.

We know a good piano when we see one and are prepared to compensate you for the true value of its worth.

Type of Pianos We Look Out For

Two factors we use in determining the pianos we’re interested in are age and brand.

We prefer to buy younger pianos which include anything up to 40 years old.

The main brands we’re interested in include:

• Yamaha
• Kawai
• Alex Steinbach
• Some other brands may be accepted depending on the condition and age

We generally don’t buy second-hand digital pianos, however, if it’s a current model that we sell from our brands (i.e. Yamaha, Casio or Roland) we may consider buying it.

Photos

In order to get a better idea of the condition of your piano, we also require photos of

• The entire piano
• Inside the piano if possible, to check the condition of the strings and action inside
• Any damage/dents/major scratches on the piano or keybed

With this vital information we can then provide you with an accurate quote and talk about the next required steps.

Note in some instances in order to further evaluate the condition of the piano, after receiving the required information and photos, we may also need to come out and inspect the piano.
