Manufactured in Japan between 1976-1980, the Yamaha UX was introduced as an upgraded version of the U3 model. The UX feature higher grade materials in the action and soundboard, longer bass strings achieved through a curved bridge design, and superior tuning stability thanks to the back X brace. The UX series is specifically designed for professionals, offering some features found in grand pianos and utilising higher quality materials in the action parts and soundboard, including higher grade wood and felt in the hammers and dampers.
